Merlin Buffet Systems (MBS) was conceived in November 1995 and began trading in January 1996.
Officially launching at Hotelympia 96 in Earls Court, London, the launch was successful and forced the first move after only three months. Continued success has since forced three further moves to larger premises moving to the present site in January 2017.
By securing distribution rights for a revolutionary, stacking buffet system predominately aimed at the 4 and 5 hotel groups, MBS embarked on revolutionising the way buffets were produced, stored and transported.
The systems success in Europe facilitated the marketing in the UK, ‘opening doors’ and allowing MBS to introduce other revolutionary and innovative ideas along with new designs, developments from around the world. With the continually growing range, Merlin positioned itself as a premier supplier for hotel and restaurant group standards in food presentations.
The product design side developed into a Bespoke Design Service allowing Merlin to turn clients ideas and designs into reality This service has been used for film and product launch parties, including ‘Spiderman the movie’ and Cartier, competition pieces for Culinary Olympics and Bocus D’Or along with hotel openings for Marriott, Hilton, Radisson and sports events such as The Olympics, Wimbledon, the Ryder Cup and the UEFA Cup.
MBS supply other high end hospitality venues including sports stadium, financial and pharmaceutical institutions, contract and event caterers and government facilities.
In October 2005 MBS invested in a comprehensive, integrated and effective ICT systems to support all basic business processes/procedures with a facility to allow full traceability of goods from suppliers to end users.
MBS have become an international suppliers with clients in US, Europe and Middle East and as far away as Kenya, Saipan, Haiti and Afghanistan.
